and it went over great! Meanwhile, out back, NICK KEY of DROPSHOT and SHANE
DOSS of PRIDETRIBE teamed up to do a collection of Seattle Grunge.
Inside we really mixed it up--beginning with a young Southern Rock group called
THE PEACEMAKERS. These guys have some very good originals, and captured
the crowd right out of the gate. DARK HORSE was next up, and I loved their
professionalism and their Country/Southern style. JENNIFER LEE AND NEVEAH
PEEK is a band I've really liked for a while now. This band can do it all…I was
expecting Country, but they came out rocking! This lady's voice just blows me
away and the band is just as good. We backed their performance up with the
duo of CAROLYNN STREET and SHANE DOSS--who together are
PRIDETRIBE…wow! CAROLYNN finished with her version of “Hallelujah” that we
recorded last year and changed the tone of the event.
THE TERRY COLE SHOW followed, and in addition to their incredible Southern
Rock, followed CAROLYNN’S cue and pitched in for the most moving combo of
“Dixie” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic”, that turned the entire crowd patriotic
and proud. VENDETTA then took over and rocked the place till closing. These
guys are close friends of mine and are a favorite of the biker crowd and were the
perfect choice to close the show.
The show was about more than just the bands. It was about the many dogs that
were adopted at the event and the money raised to continue saving animals from
the kill shelters. It was about LOUIS and THE PORPOISE PUB staff, who always
work hard to keep our music scene alive and supported me every step of the
way. It was about the greatest lighting I have ever witnessed by P&M's
DREMLAND, who spent 4 long days setting up, running and tearing down the
light show. It was about JOHN TEK and his wizardry on the sound board. It was
about the announcers, KEITH WILKENS and CHRIS “FISHER”, who kept the
crowd engaged, and BUDDY ZAPPA, who worked himself to exhaustion filming
the entire event for HEAVY METAL TELEVISION. It was about my stage
managers, DINA MEAD and KIM MCGILL, who kept the show rolling and put in 5
hard months planning every single detail of the show. It is about SEMINOLE
MUSIC AND SOUND, who provided backline equipment and STAR 1 RECORDS
and ION INDIE MAGAZINE, who have supported the event from its inception.
It's about UTOPIA ARTISTS and DREAM NIGHT TALENT SEARCH, who brought in
JAGGED ROW and offered advice and support. Most of all it's about the fans who
came out to support so many artists in such numbers. They are the life blood of
the industry--and without them, we might as well go fishing!
There will be a SHARKFEST '16, same time next year. Any bands wishing to
