Story and Photography by Timothy Schumann On December 16, 2014, here in El Paso, Texas, CAGE THE ELEPHANT brought their live show to TRICKY FALLS--and I say their "LIVE" show, because I also had the great pleasure of shooting them back here in April when they played in a very small venue for a 23 minute acoustical set. But the show they played at Tricky was off the chain! Fronted by the two brothers, MATT and BRAD SHULTZ, this was a super highenergy performance that somewhat took me by surprise. I was warned, but had no idea of what to expect. This show had been sold-out for a couple of weeks, so 1500 people were treated to fan favorite songs such as “In One Ear”, “Aberdeen”, “Come A Little Closer” and “Ain't No Rest For The Wicked”. Crowd reaction was unbelievable--especially to the stage presence of MATT SHULTZ. In my opinion, he is one of the best front men I've seen in a while…fun to watch and a fantastic entertainer! The only setback was that the set was cut short. The reason for this was…the drummer had to head home because his wife had given birth…so the drum tech filled in (but didn't really know all the songs). Hence, the short performance. But still, what a show! So, if you are a fan of Indie/Garage/Alternative Rock, CAGE THE ELEPHANT is right up your alley. Buy your ticket, get to the show and be prepared to have your hair blown back—a MUST see! www.cagetheelephant.com www.facebook.com/cagetheelephant
