Also raffled off was a Dunlop Cry Baby pedal and the winner was MIKE MATTSON. And it truly was a “Greatest
Love of All” moment when Mattson graciously presented young Lizette with the pedal! YOU rawk, Mike! I
was all caught up in the “feel good” moment…but was snapped back into “Metal mode” when St. Madness
made their presence known in their usual understated (NOT!) style.
St. Madness NEVER disappoints—they are not exactly known for keeping their “light under a bushel”.
PRO PHET (vocals), SID RIPSTER (guitar), BIG DADDY SUG (drums) and SCARLET RIVERS (bass), opened with
one of my personal favorites “Drowning on Air”, and throughout their set, delivered their signature sound
punctuated with the cast of colorful characters that heighten the
“mad” experience. They paid homage to their home state with their
song “Arizona” and of course, there was the addition of two bountiful
beauties joining them on stage for the cheeky song “Sexual Abuse”—
always a crowd-pleaser! St. Madness always serves up enthralling
original music peppered by supreme showmanship. Tonight they also
interjected their own rousing rendition of JOHNNY CASH’S iconic
“Folsom Prison Blues”, capping off a most sinfully solid show.

It was a most memorable evening of music that was made magic by
the efforts of George and Lorraine and their aptly named Epic Music
Store. ION Indie Magazine wouldn’t have missed it for the world!
