WINTER FEST 2016, the third annual 3 day indoor Rock festival, put on by JOHN HOVANEC and his company MAXEDOUT
ENTERTAINMENT, was a stellar event held in Hagerstown, MD. I was fortunate enough to have been one of the few authorized
to shoot the show. Day one featured bands RABID ASSASSIN, WRITING OFF TOMORROW, SIXTEEN CYLINDER, SMALL TOWN
TITANS, LULLWATER and headliner and former ION Indie Magazine featured cover artist, ANOTHER LOST YEAR. Day one
included a presentation from the great folks at MID-ATLANTIC ROCK REVIEWS, giving the “Golden Horns Award” to our great
friends in Another Lost Year for their single “Wolves”, which we have included for your listening pleasure. There was no let up
for day two as CYRENIC kicked of the night, followed by DEFENDING CAIN, THROUGH THE FIRE, FAILURE ANTHEM and
headlining act, ADELITAS WAY. Unfortunately, day 3 of the festivities I spent in the Emergency Room getting my thumb sewn
back together after a mishap. Day three was certainly chocked full of talent with BILLY “THE FOUR LEAF LOSER” BROWN, SO
LOW, CALISUS--with BOBBY AMARU of SALIVA and NOLAN NEAL rounding out a great lineup. You should take the time, if you
are not familiar with some of these artists, check them out you will be impressed. Kudos to you Mr. Hovanec and Maxedout
Entertainment, for bringing such great live music to the tri-state area.
