Music by STRANGELET/Tainted Interview with Stefan Zörner and Tobias Eurich • By Kat Zee KZ: Hey, dear Stefan and dear Tobias! how are you today? Thank you very much for taking the time to do this interview for ION INDIE MAGAZINE--it's an honor for us. Tobi: Hey there--well, very exhausted, haha--studying all day for my exams, writing songs and stuff. But thank YOU for this interview, too. It’s great to get so much recognition for our work! Stefan: Horns up! KZ: You have released our debut album “First Bite” on December 12, 2014. Did you put a lot of effort into it? What are some of the most memorable moments during the making of the album? Tobi: We worked on the album for a year ‘til we finally had the release. It was a hard time and there were so many things to do. But all in all it was definitely worth it! The most memorable moment…I think the first rehearsal and starting the guitar recordings to see our vision of “First Bite” become real. Stefan: Uh, the most memorable thing, I think for me, it was the knowledge that, we are growing something very special, something great and good! I am still very proud and happy with “First Bite”. KZ: You are a powerhouse, and a unique “hard and heavy” Rock band with Glam Metal influences, consisting of four hot men and one dynamic lady playing on drums. How is the energy between you guys and this beautiful lady? Are you friends? Perhaps Jessica orders you around as every woman should? (laughs) Stefan: (laughs) Funny! Jess is cool. We all are quite different and sometimes, it is difficult to handle. But in the end...we just hug and love each other! Tobi: No, we’re five individual people and so it’s difficult to agree on one way of doing things. But we have worked together for years and try to write songs and make decisons everbody can live with. (laughs)We are one band and friends...divided we will fall! KZ: I very much like “Tainted”, “Privilege of Power” and the ballad “Stillborn”. Can you tell me something more about these songs? From where did the idea originate to write such lyrics and create these memorable melodies? Tobi: Stefan writes most of the lyrics. “Stillborn” was written by me and tells a story of a broken heart and breaking up a relationship--everyone knows how it feels. It’s like a diary. Composing the melodies and riffs is intuitive. I just play some licks for myself and the song grows step by step. By the way--some knowledge of music theory is helpful, too! (laughs) Stefan: As I have told in a couple of interviews before…“Tainted” is very personal and the song that is marked in CD BABY
