I have had at least seven careers – financial auditing, accountant, IT Professional, Spiritual Coach, Mentor across a variety of specialities or niches, Trainer, Facilitator, Co-Author, Author, and a radio presenter on the Holistic Wholeness show with my co-presenter Dawn Campbell. Every day brings a new opportunity to experience, to learn, and to enjoy. What is your elevator pitch?
Coaching is a journey of self‐discovery and achievement. Mentoring is a journey of guidance, self‐discovery and achievement. Training is a journey of learning, guidance, self‐discovery and achievement. Stop Wishing, Start Achieving! Stop Dreaming, Start Achieving!. What is the one thing that makes you unique in this profession? My clients hold me in high esteem as my style of working makes the knowledge of their future, clear, inviting, and achievable; while my style of coaching or mentoring makes the possibility of sustainable change compelling, exciting, and achievable. I use my intuition and universal thought processes while combining my extensive background and experience with a keen insight into the demands of balancing the personal with the professional.. What makes you stand out from the crowd?
In numerology terms my name represents the Master Number 11. Numerology is simply where all names are turned into numbers, and these numbers unlocks the door to our personality and to the way in which we interact with others). The number 11 is the most intuitive number which demonstrates in instinctual, charismatic, dynamic and capable personality when my sights are set on a concrete goal. Using these personality traits I am able to work with clients to help them define and achieve their concrete goal.. What inspired you to become a coach?
When I understood what coaching was I realised, and had it confirmed by my then London City based client where I was project managing a multi‐million pound software installation, that it was my preferred way of working. After understanding and learning the skills, tools, and techniques, I changed my career to help me inspire others to achieve what they want to be and/or want to do with their lives. What has been the most powerful moment in your career? When a past client realised that focusing on themselves and their own goals, did not make them selfish. Have you ever been coached yourself? Yes and still am today. Being coached not only reminds each coach of what incredible skills we all have, but serves as a reminder that using a coach really does help me achieve my aspirations. What I gain from my own coaching I pass on to all my clients – that ability to step up and live the life I choose to live. What is the most powerful coaching lesson you have ever learned? Even the smallest change can bring about huge achievement. What is your favourite coaching question? What will happen if you do that? What will not happen if you do that? What will happen if you do not do that? What will not happen if you do not do that? OR If money was no object, what would you be doing right now?? Who has been the biggest influence on you?
Richard Branson and Bob Proctor. What message do you have for anyone who aspires to have you as their role model?
‘If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right’. Henry Ford. What important question didn't we ask you, and why? When I reflect on my life and look back at the choices I have made, would I do anything differently? It’s human nature to want to say ‘yes’, but when I look at what I have done, the experiences I’ve had, the challenges and successes, then I know that each step of the way I’ve been gradually working towards my overall goal – one step at a time. Would you like to be interviewed? Yes. What is your favourite quote?
There are many and used in the right context they are fabulous, but when I’m thinking about working with a client: ‘Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time’. Bob Proctor ‘You don’t learn to walk by following the rules. You learn by doing, and falling over’. Richard Branson CLICK HERE to contact Barbara
