includes tips on how to keep

Th ere are numerous companies

unpacked and chemical free
foods.
If your pet is allergic to any
food items or ingredients,
then switching to natural and
organic food will be the best
option, because it provides
your pet with the best chances
of digesting it well and
combating various problems
which they might have suff ered
due to either lack of proper
nutrition or continuous use of
things they are allergic to.
Another question most
pet owners are concerned
about is whether the added
preservatives in packaged food
are harmful. Research indicates
that if used for prolonged

periods of time, they can
increase the risk of toxicity in
any dog food. For example, one
artifi cial preservative to watch
out for on a label is ethoxyquin.
Th at’s because ethoxyquin is
not only used for preserving,
but also as a pesticide and

been under investigation by
the FDA(Food and Drug
Administration) for possibly
causing certain liver and blood
problems. Th is preservative
is not permitted for use in
Australian dog foods nor is
approved within the European
Union. So, the cautious pet
owners now have another
reason for choosing natural
food. Th is supports your pet’s
immune system and helps in
building resistance to allergies.
Organic and natural food may
seem to be more expensive
at fi rst, but it actually costs
less in the long run. While
organic brands do cost more
per kilogram, they contain
higher levels of nutrition as
compared to inorganic and
artifi cial food. Observing
this change of pattern in the
food supply chain of humans,
small pet food companies
started producing vegetarian
or fresh food. Th e Animal
Welfare Board of India had
made a strong case in support
of natural food for our
domesticated furry friends,
dedicating a whole page on
their website to it, which
