- Could you tell me about a situation where you felt that a conventional approach had to be modified because it wasn't suitable.

Yes, about six weeks ago, I was asked to perform a risk assesment on a project. We use a program called CNOTE, it provides us with set questions.

The project was unique and I felt that it required more questions so I added an additional file and submitted it to senior management, they liked my iniciative and were pleased, it felt very rewarding.

- Tell me about a situation where you had to trust your team to find a new approach to an old problem.

This is something that I feel very strongly about. I trust my team 100%. I can recall a time when my team had deadline issues based on manpower shortages. Instead of being faced with the same problem over and over again I asked them to come up with a solution and implement it. They did and we now automate more of the project management process and have a larger contingency fund. they feel a greater sense of belonging and that they are more involved with the decision making process, it was a great result.

- Have you ever had to convince senior management that a change was necessary?

Not everyone likes change but I think that it is necessary sometimes, especially as technology is moving so fast. I did a case study on behalf of senior management, they were reluctant to update the project management teams computers.

I managed to influence the change by adopting cloud storage and proving that the speed of our computer terminals influenced productivity and effected deadlines.
