Written presentations lack those traits so in written form the report would have to compensate and in most cases can cross between formal and informal writing styles. I use a combination of these forms in my present position.

- Has your report writing ever been critisised?

I would be the first to admit that I am not perfect, yes it has, a specific circumstance was when I had to resolve a dispute between two team members in different locations. They had an altercation and I had to write to them explaining that this would not be tolerated. Senior management felt that my wording should have been more agressive. I have since attended an internal management training program and really feel that I am improving. I valued the critism, it's nice to be told when you are doing things correctly but equally important to know when there is room to improve.
