POST-SHOW Q&A
Consider the following stimuli to help
prepare yourself to make the most of
the post-show Q&A. The cast and
creative team are looking forward to
meeting you and answering your
questions!
When preparing for the Q&A it’s a good idea
to read the program. It will give you insight
into the thoughts behind the design, the
director’s intention and list the cast and crew
involved in the production.
→ APPROACH TO TEXT
For Writers:
How did it feel hearing your monologue
performed for the first time?
How did you develop your initial idea
into a stage-ready monologue?
What’s your writing process?
For Actors:
How did you feel the first time you read
the monologue you’d be performing?
How do you approach bringing a piece
of text to life?
How much contact did you have with
the writer of your monologue? Was this
a positive or challenging part of the
process?
THINK: Do you ever think about the person
who writes the pieces you perform? What
might be the advantages of having access to
the playwright during the rehearsal process?
→ CREATING A CHARACTER
How did you approach creating your
character? How much of the work was
done in rehearsals?
Do you as an actor identify with your
character?
How do you prepare to play a character
that may be completely unlike yourself?
How does being part of an ensemble
affect how your character develops?
