8.4.3 INTERNSHIP AGREEMENTS
Remember that an internship is not an employment. Neither is it a
client-vendor arrangement. As such, there is no need for you to sign
any agreement pertaining to your internship. Still, some organisations
may have internal HR policies that require an agreement to be signed by
you before they can process your monthly allowance, for example, or
simply to be clear and specific on their expectations. Others may require
a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to be signed in order to safeguard
confidential information that you may handle.
If so required, NTU CAO has an internship agreement template which
should be used or referenced. If you are given an agreement by the
company to sign, please first send it to your Internship Programme
Manager (see Section 11). You will then be advised on the next steps. We
want to make sure that the agreement is written clearly and fairly for the
purpose of your internship and does not contradict any of NTU’s policies.
