b. Plan your learning and development • Apply concepts from the classroom to the work setting. • Use the KDF framework when handling projects: Identify what you Know, Don’t Know, and need to Find out. This will help pinpoint your existing skills and knowledge as well as the corresponding skills and knowledge gaps. • Seek relevant learning resources (including your supervisor, Professor and colleagues) to bridge the gaps and keep improving. 12 c. Dealing with work • Be clear with what you have to do, what your deliverables are, and the timeline you should work under. • Never assume. Always clarify. • Manage your time by planning each day carefully. Actively learn ways to go about your tasks more efficiently and effectively. • If you feel overwhelmed by the amount of work, talk to your supervisor about prioritising them. • Keep your supervisor and team updated with your progress (whether daily, weekly or fortnightly, it depends on the work culture but do it consistently). • Add value to everything you handle and never be a “mailbox”. • Consult your NTU faculty supervisor for advice, where needed.
