Beliefs Regarding Faculty Participation Conclusion In this paper we have presented a preliminary research study using the Theory of Planned Behavior, a well-supported model of behavior prediction, to examine beliefs that underlie faculty participation in the peer review of online course design quality. While the results of this study were limited due to the small sample size, the qualitative interpretations presented lead to both refinements in our institutional processes and avenues for future research. Online course quality is an important goal, not only in our newly independent University with a rapidly growing online presence, but in all institutions of higher education with online programs. Peer review and use of an established benchmark, like the QM Rubric, command scientific inquiry to improve their application. The findings of this study are an important first step to this ongoing line of inquiry. References Ajzen, I. (1985). From intentions to actions: A theory of planned behavior. In J. Kuhl & J.
