BRAZILIAN CARNIVAL WORKSHOP

“Fala galera, amigos! Prazer em conhecê-lo. Bem-vindo para o
Carnaval do Brasil!” (English Translation: Hey guys! Nice to meet
you all. Welcome to Brazilian Carnival!) Throughout the workshop,
Gabriel primarily introduced the history of the festival of Carnival
in Brazil. He showed us video clips of samba dancing and shared his
own experiences at Carnival!
The most interesting thing I learned in the workshop was definitely
samba dancing. It is actually very representative of culture in Brazil.
Whenever there are carnivals or celebration parties, Brazilians
will gather together in the streets, sharing excitement and plenty
of performances. Gabriel even demonstrated for us a few steps! I
recognised that it was extremely easy for people to learn and its
movements were extremely gorgeous, too.
I also enjoyed a section of the workshop in which we created
our own unique Carnival masks. It really helped me develop my
creativity and imagination. I hope I will have the opportunity to
experience Brazilian Carnival for myself one day!
