The days leading up to the event were
filled with inexplicable excitement as the
Organising Committee and performers
alike put their strengths
together and prepared for
the Talent Show. Many
long nights, blood, sweat
and laughter went into the
making of an event we were
all passionate about. Finally,
the day arrived. Hurried sounchecks and
multiple attendances later, we were ready
and thrumming to put on our show. The
lights went out, and the show began.
the girls gave the stage to Robin, who
slowed the pace once again with a soulful
and heartbreaking singing performance of
“Million Reasons” by the one
and only Lady Gaga. More
singing followed as Evelyn
and Tyler channelled Jason
Mraz and Colbie Callait
in an adorable version of
the song “Lucky”, followed
by the precious Lily who won the crowd
with her Chinese pop song! Shawn Mendes
and Hailee Steinfeld found themselves
in Anson and Shella as the duet sang
their hearts out to “Stitches”, and finally
a dance quartet starring Sally, Eva, Ice
and Wan Ke Yi brought down the house
with modern and Chinese classical dance!
Having outdone themselves across the fine
arts, the performers and audience alike let
themselves loose on the dance floor under
neon lights and all the best party songs
before the finalists would be announced.
The lights
went out, and
the show began.
The opening act was a Chinese
instrumental on a guzheng with percussion
accompaniment, performed by Cao Rui
and Wan Xin Yan. In awe of the mysterious
and enchanting melody, the show did
a 360 when dancing duo Ivy and Doris
took to the stage with their Latin pop
piece! Shaking their hips to the rhythm,
