GIRL PIANO TRUCK
is Ambres current project and
here she explains more about
the idea and how it is now
growing.
“A few years ago I had a vision
in which I was giving one of my
concerts on an old piano in the
middle of the Serengeti Plains,
a giraffe sailed past as I was
playing and a group of children
were sitting nearby listening and
watching.
I realised I had to make this
project become a reality and so
I came up with the name GIRL
PIANO TRUCK, and the idea of
putting a piano in a truck and
travelling to remote parts of the
world giving concerts, playing
and sharing the classical and
world music that I love so much
rather than just sticking to the
usual old route of concert halls
on the same circuit as every
other classical pianist.
Last year I launched the project
and went to India, East Timor,
Thailand and Belarus playing in
schools and orphanages (some
of them for disabled children
and young adults) and even a
mental asylum in Minsk, Belarus.
All self-funded.
