As the fishing industry has
begun to decrease in its catch
and profit due to various
causes over the last decade
including overfishing, pollution,
mangrove deforestation and
temperature
change,
the
tourism industry has presented
a sustainable manner for the
small village to develop an
alternate economic ingress for
the generation to come.
GIVE BACK EFFORT
Betty Surf & Yoga envisioned
the children’s program working
with local and underprivileged
youth as a means to give back
to the community in which we
do business. Offering a chance
for future work in the tourism
industry to the up and coming
generation. This is also a
chance to to share the themes
of health and wellness, with a
directed interest in developing
increased
attention
span
and
mental
focus
while
supplementing a positive and
healthy self image. In particular
with
the girls- sharing these themes
and making the program
accessible to this ultimate
minority group.
History of the Project
We initiated the project in
California, 3 years ago with
Rerip.Org
donating
used
surfboards to launch the kid’s
program. We began the
program working with the Bilingual Algarrobos School as
an extracurricular Swimming
Course for the 6th grade.
