“I always remember being shouted at as a child and being scared of trying things out. I was expected as the eldest to look after myself and not be a nuisance. My Mother always seemed to be spend more time with my younger sister but as a result she has become more needy, less independent and finds it hard to take risks in her life. I don’t want my child to feel neglected the same way I did but I also want him to become an independent and confident person.”
