COVER: SPRINGER – Screw Unscrambler and Feeder
Springer’s Screw Unscrambler and Feeder
were recently installed in the debarking line
of a Tolko mill in British Columbia, Canada.
Due to the high cost of maintaining the
two existing log singulators, Tolko’s
requirement was clear: smooth, efficient
feeding and of logs up to 25 logs/min, with
consistent gaps and reduced maintenance
costs.
The flexibility of Springer’s solution
was key, bridging an elevation change
of 10 feet with a single unit. Logs are
aligned, singulated, and even-ended to an
integrated stop-end chain, and accelerated
in the longitudinal direction as they are fed
to the existing receiving conveyor.
