John Deere informed us this is
their most successful ever launch
with over two hundred machines sold

factory is hiring over fifty extra staff.
John Deere Forestry Oy in
Joensuu, manufactures log
forwarders, wheeled harvesters and
harvesting heads.
Joensuu is sometimes referred to as the Forest Capital of Europe, mainly
because the European Forest Institute is based there. Other forestry
research and educational facilities are also based in Joensuu.
The proximity of the eastern border has been an important factor in the
history of the city, and for John Deere who have high volume sales in Russia.

A solution for transporting
logs over soft terrain
The long-bogie 1210G or 1510G
forwarders are now available for
pairing up with the 8-wheel 1270G
harvester for logging in soft terrain
and other demanding logging
conditions. The distance between
the front and rear wheel hubs in
the rear bogie is 1890 mm, i.e. 390
mm longer than in the standard
model, reducing ground pressure
by 14% with tracks. The power train
and turning radius are the same as
with the standard HD portal bogie-
equipped machine. The long-bogie
solution operates well both in
normal and soft terrains. The tracks
are shallower and the depressions
in the terrain are smaller. The
long bogie brings stability when
navigating over obstacles, and
the low ground pressure of the
machine’s front and rear chassis
make the machine an excellent
choice for logging in soft terrain.

1510G forwarders for logging in soft terrain
