The process
These single pass machines, which
are still in high demand today, can
change on the fly when it comes to
log input and product output, all
while operating at speeds of over
700 ft/minute (220 m/minute),
depending on log size.
The process is fairly simple with
the log delivered to the HewSaw
with a highly efficent and accurate
HewSaw Login system, which
consists of a V-flight conveyor,
a sophisticated log scanner and
a rotary Log Positioner. The Log
Positioner takes information
from the scanner heads and the
optimizer to position the log
correctly for maximum recovery
and profit for the mill.
