Publisher’s Note
In this month’s issue of iF
Magazine, I would like to focus
on what seems to be the current
breakdown of morality that makes
me cynical of today’s world. One
look at the news is enough to make you
feel the same way. On the flip side though,
when I think about all the good people and or-
ganizations right here in Houston doing wonder-
ful things for their communities, I’m compelled
to recognize those people and organizations that
assist others, give back, and work tirelessly for
those with less.
Houston is blessed with so many great non-profit
business organizations that work as advocates for
the people, such as the Houston Hispanic Cham-
ber of Commerce (CoC), Myanmar American
CoC, Houston Chinese CoC, Pakistan CoC, Tri-
County Regional Black CoC, Caribbean CoC,
and US-Mexico CoC, just to name a few. The di-
versity in these organizations is a huge plus for the
city of Houston. They are distinctly different in
their missions, but they all have the common goal
of doing good things for the community. And it
excites me to know that there are still many good
people in this world!
54 iF Magazine | August 2018
That brings me to our August cover page: The
Honorable Gezahegn Kebede, Honorary Consul
General of Ethiopia. The Honorable Consul Gen-
eral is one of the most liked and well-respected
members of the Consular Corps of Houston. You
can definitely add me to the list of well-wishers
of the Republic of Ethiopia. I certainly under-
stand why this wise diplomat was chosen to head
Ethiopia’s Houston post.
As always, thank you for your readership!
