OTC Houston-Abu Dhabi Breakfast
Each year , the Houston-Abu Dhabi Sister Cities Association hosts a Kickoff Breakfast for delegates from the United Arab Emirates who attend the Offshore Technology Conference ( OTC ) in Houston . This year ’ s 50th anniversary of OTC was no exception . On April 30 , 2018 , diplomats , including the Hon . Gilad Katz , Consul General of Israel ; local , national , and international corporate executives ; government officials ; business leaders ; and Sister City members gathered to welcome their counterparts from abroad .
After the guests mingled and enjoyed a halal breakfast , Sunil Sharma , President of the Association , welcomed the attendees and began the program . The speakers included the Hon . Nazak Nikakhtar , Assistant Secretary for Industry & Analysis , U . S . Department of Commerce , who shared the latest developments that would be beneficial to companies both here and abroad ; Rachel Duran , Commercial Attache , US Commercial Service , US Embassy in Abu Dhabi , US Department of Commerce who gave insights for doing business in the UAE ; Sugar Land Council Member Hon . Amy Mitchell , and H . E . Sanad Al Meqbali , UAE Delegate from the Emirate Zone . The Honorable Saeed Al Mhairi , Consul General of the United Arab Emirates , selected the winning business card and presented a gift to one of the attendees . Afterwards , the delegates left for what was expected to be a successful week at the Conference .
