Turkish Airlines 5th Anniversary & Partner Awards
On April 5, 2018 Turkish Airlines hosted a special dinner at the Hyatt Re-
gency Houston Galleria, celebrating their 5th Year Anniversary operating
in Houston, Texas. Attending the celebration were community leaders like
Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the City of Houston; consul generals from the
Consular Corps of Houston; representing Turkey, Akil Oktem; Pakistan, Ai-
sha Farooqui; and other destinations as well as public officials and prominent
Houstonians from the International Community. The evening was a chance
to honor the many industry partners and supporters that have played a role
in their successful time serving the Houston market. Congratulations to
Horizon Travel for receiving the best Pakistani Travel Agent Award. Every-
one enjoyed the lavishly decorated ballroom, Traditional Dance Troop, Turk-
ish Musicians, and the wonderful food finished off by a lovely Turkish coffee
served by husband and wife owners of the Turquoise Grill, Yilmaz “Jim” and
Deanna Dokuyucu. Turkish Airlines is expanding and growing rapidly due
to their attention to detail, stellar customer service, and the comfort of their
passengers.
“It was a great pleasure celebrating Turkish Airlines’ fifth year in Houston
yesterday. During my previous posting as Consul General, one of our main
goals was to establish a Turkish Airlines’ leg in Houston and make Istan-
bul a connection and a gateway to the rest of the world. It gives me great
pleasure to see our work come to fruition. I would like to thank the Hon-
orable Sylvester Turner, Mayor of Houston, THY Vice President Mustafa
