he summer season is fast approaching , and , as many of you know , I have had a passion for international business travel ever since my days as president of a chamber of commerce . One of the great characteristics of business travel is that we can always add a touristic component to it , at least I do , especially when organizing trips for business people .
I love every minute of planning and working with a team of like-minded professional travelers who know how the game works !
You can probably imagine how exciting it can be to propose a trade mission to any of the 93 Consul Generals posted in Houston , who are more than happy to assist . After all , their mission is to represent their home or appointed country , and there is no better way than to assist a delegation in visiting the country they represent . Believe me , the optimal way to understand the political and social realities and business environment of a country is to visit it .
I have advised many of my clients and friends who are thinking of going global not to get caught up in mere email exchanges ! You must visit to understand the fascinating people who ultimately drive your decisions in business endeavors .
Which brings to mind our May cover page with T . H . Nana Yuliana , Consul General of Indonesia . We are certainly looking forward to visiting the Republic of Indonesia ! And if the Honorable Nana Yuliana is any indication of the people we will meet there , I am particularly excited and can ’ t wait to visit . She is one of the warmest persons I ’ ve had the pleasure of meeting and has such a wonderful heart . This epitomizes one of the pleasures of this business — to have the opportunity to interview genuine individuals !
