G7 recipient Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organization registered under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). Founded in 2003, Sewa Inter- national is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and is active in twenty countries. Sewa serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender or na- tionality. They specialize in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Their development programs focus on family services; child, tribal and refugee welfare; women empowerment; health; and education. In addition to their work in the US, we have undertaken development projects in Colombia, Guy- ana, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They have to date logged 22,000 volunteer hours and over 500,000 dollars towards the Harvey relief and rebuild ef- fort. They are currently working in the Small Cambodian Farming community in Rosharon, Texas rebuilding homes, providing new greenhouses, clothing and working closely with the White House Asian American and Pacific Island- ers Initiative to provide forward solutions and educational opportunities.
