National Defense University ’ s Fellows Dinner at the Home of Farouk Shami

More than 100 senior ranking military officers from 60 + different countries attend National Defense University as International Fellows , to obtain their Masters Degrees . This process allows them to learn about American government , institutions , political processes and economical systems . It is through the generosity of the Sponsorship Program that the Fellows are immersed into the American society , culture , neighborhoods , schools and families .
On January 10 , 2018 , Military Representatives from 54 Countries attended a reception and dinner hosted by Dr . Farouk Shami at his home in Spring , Texas . Dr . Shami is on the Board of Director of NDUF and an established Sponsor .
Dr . Farouk Shami , Chairman of Farouk systems , came to this country with only hopes and dreams . He turned his struggles in his hair care industry into challenges . Through his hard work , determination and following the American dream , he was able to grow his business into the International Hair Care Empire it is today . Dr . Shami is proud to tell his story of his humble beginnings and boast about how America is the land of opportunity . He is a proud American and contributes Internationally so we can all strive to live in peace on one planet . His speech at the reception delivered this message with heart and soul . According to Dr . Shami , “ As a proud American by choice , it is both an honor and a privilege to be of service to such an important organization such as the National Defense University Foundation .”
