The conversation began with a little his- tory about himself and his wife Fort Bend County native Regina K. Mo- rales, currently President/CEO of the Central Fort Bend Chamber. Together since their 20’s, 39 years of marriage, Mr. Morales credits Regi- na with the family’s focus on com- munity service, family, and faith. He proudly told I.F. about her many ac- complishments over the years such as starting the Katy EDC, heading up economic development and playing a part when economic development director of Sugar Land in structuring the deals behind The Smart Financial Center and The Constellation Field. You’ve told me so much about your wife Regina. Is she the reason you got into public service? “I am going to have to give her credit because Regina has been in- volved in the community even when our two boys were young. This one story I will never forget. She went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to learn about the Rain For- est and then went around to all the elementary schools giving presenta- tions on the Rain Forest. She was always involved in the community, even more so when we came to Ft. Bend Co. in 1993.” “I was playing the spouse at a Red Cross event when I was asked what I was running for.
