The field of medicine is also of great
importance to the Consulate, as we
try to foster collaboration with dif-
ferent partners in Egypt and their
counterparts in Texas, and to ex-
change expertise between both sides.
The Consulate participates in many
cultural events, and is always keen
on bringing the Egyptian culture to
Houston.
Katia: What are some past,
present, and future goals for
Egypt’s relationship with Houston?

Egypt is currently witnessing great
economic changes; we have recently
undergone significant infrastructure
projects — the expansion of the
Suez Canal and establishing eco-
nomic zones — as well as building
a new administrative Capital. Egypt
