unny Sharma received an undergraduate degree in
Mechanical Engineering in India, a Master of Science
degree in Industrial Engineering from Mississippi State
University and a Master of Business Administration from
the University of Houston.
In 1974, Sunny started his career as Management Engineer
at St. Joseph Hospital and later became Director of De-
partment of Management Engineering for St. Luke’s Epis-
copal Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and Texas Heart
Institute in Houston, Texas. In 1983, Sunny co-founded
and became Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Medical Enterprises International, Inc. of Houston, Texas,
an independent service organization to maintain and
service all types of medical equipment. The company was
sold in 1987 to Medical Systems Support, Inc., where he
became the Director of Clinical Marketing Systems.
In 1989, Sunny developed the concept for Sunbelt
Medical Corporation (SMC) and founded the company
as President and Chief Executive Officer. SMC of-
fers equipment consultation, acquisition, installation and
maintenance for healthcare facilities worldwide. SMC
sells new and refurbished equipment and furnishings to
physician’s offices, imaging centers and hospitals. In a
highly competitive medical field, SMC has been success-
ful in providing cost effective solutions to its customers
without any sales and marketing personnel. SMC has
been the only company to furnish a 50 bed General Hos-
pital in West Africa with all refurbished equipment and a
40 bed specialty hospital in USA with all new equipment
on a “turn key” basis.
In 2013, to complement his current business, Sunny
purchased a company called Medical Tectronics Inc.,
that has been in business since 1974. MTI provides new
and refurbished home health equipment and services all
equipment such as, oxygen concentrators, sleep apnea,
ventilators, patient lifts, scooters, wheelchairs, etc.

Sunny has taught several Business and Management
Courses at the Houston Community College as adjunct
faculty member. Sunny is a sought-after speaker and has
authored several health care articles including, “Phar-
macy – Productivity Measurements and Improvements”,
presented and published in Center for Hospital Manage-
ment Engineering, July 1977. “Critical Path Method in
CAT Scan Utilization” a case study published in Hospital
Management Engineering Text Book, by Harold E. Smal-
ley, Prentice Hall, Inc. New Jersey, 1982.
