The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published
a final rule interpreting, clarifying, and implementing the American
Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 (ACWIA) legislation which will go into effect January 17, 2017. The
published final rule is documented in the Federal Register, Vol. 81,
No. 223, November 18, 2016, “Rules and Regulations” and details
changes to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations related to certain employment-based immigrant programs.
