Naturalization Ceremony
of New Americans

On October 27th, the Naturalization Ceremony of New
Americans took place at Houston City Hall. These New
Americans came from nearly 30 countries to receive
their U.S. citizenship. This time of year is known as Citizenship month.
The event was attended by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner; U.S. Federal Judge Vanessa D. Gilmore; First
Daughter Ashley Turner; U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services & Citizenship month Steering Committee;
Congresswoman Sheila J. Lee; Congressman Gene Green;
State Reps., City Council Members, officials, staff and
community leaders were also present.
The New Americans were very happy, after such a long
time to become a U.S. citizen was great moment.
