We Each a
Purple
Coneflower
by T. Jenese Thompson
Peace brightens up dark patios
captivates birds butterflies and bees
for Containers and Borders
a long, continuous
bloomer
We each such a flower
Give it sun
Give it water
With sturdy stems we won’t topple over
Peace is tougher it’s name, tolerant
bourgeoning beyond dense shade
though breaths of pollutants pose
less fertile conditions
We each a Poet
a purple coneflower, enticing butterflies
all summer and then feeding
birds as the seed heads fall
