the last word Publisher’s Note w e’ve hit the ground running! I’m excited to announce the month of August 2016 will be our third issue of iF Magazine. Houstonians are receiving our publication with great reviews. Our writers, photographers and graphic artists have done a fabulous job at making iF Magazine a premierm high quality publication. Many thanks to all of you! Our August issue with Houston Restaurant Weeks has many listings of diverse dining options. I’m looking forward to visiting a few this month for sure! Along with being the most diverse city in the nation, Houston boasts as having the most restaurants of any city in the southern part of the US, iF not in the nation. I’m sure you’ll also find yourself pleased this month as you may look for new dining experiences during Houston Restaurant Weeks. My office is in the middle of Chinatown, I could literally walk a few blocks and dine at the best from East Asia. Or, I could hop into my car and drive a couple of miles and dine Indian, Pakistan, African, French, Italian just to name a few … Houston’s restaurant scene is amazing! Speaking of restaurants and food, I’m happy to announce we have a contributing “Food Reviewer” who will visit restaurants around town and report the many flavors and taste of Houston. Now that’s a job I could envy! Perhaps I’ll ride along sometime. 50 iF Magazine | August 2016 As publisher of iF Magazine, I’d like to take the opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to reside and work in a great and diverse city that is Houston. When you love what you do it has been said work is easiest. In other words, the line between work and play becomes blurred. Not one day has passed since the launch of the magazine that I don’t eat, sleep, shower and shave iF Magazine. As I’ve mentioned to all of our colleagues and supporters, I have all the respect in the world for the professionals and artists who day in and out — sometimes 12 hours per day — deliver to our society digital, visual and written communications. However, for most of us, it’s a labor of love. As an American who can trace his family’s history for nearly 170 years in the USA, and nearly half of those years in the city of Houston, I’m extremely proud of my country and city for how it has become a nation and town of immigrants. There’s not one segment of our society where you can’t find someone who’s ancestry is from somewhere else. That’s why these United States of America , “The Great Melting Pot”. is great!
