ecently retired as Executive Director of the World
Affairs Council of Houston, Linda Wuest remains active in the Houston community in arts, education, and
politics.
During her tenure as executive director, she was responsible for a complete reorganization of the Council.
Starting with fewer than 100 members and a nominal
budget, the Council grew to national prominence, offering members more than 200 programs each year on
international issues and US foreign policy. Each year, the
Council reached more than 30,000 Houstonians, making
it one of the most active in the nation. In addition to local programming, Ms. Wuest organized and led numerous
fact-finding missions traveling to Iran, Turkey, Syria, Israel,
China, Morocco, North Korea, Russia, Europe, India,
