O ur nation ’ s immense value of varied cultures , experiences , and perspectives create impeccable opportunity in building bridges of understanding . The shared intellect , skill , and dedication of the people of our great city know how to make things happen , even in uncertainty . We recently saw this showcased during a historic flood the week of Earth Day . The Bayou City , as it is commonly called , depicted its back-story of being a big bayou that served as trading hub where two railroads met . Houston has been called many things regarding its energy , medical , and trade infrastructure . It is time we call it what it is : a city of neighbors helping neighbors for the common good / goals . Our rich , multi-ethnic community has potential for much more productive growth if we just nurture it ! What would it take to nurture it you ’ re asking yourself ?

You ’ ve probably seen me at a National Day event or perhaps some other gathering to stand up for issues or advocate an organization . Stories told in a way that engage the typical person who may not be interested in international affairs is my niche and developing the collaboration of entities that are most unlikely to have worked together — even placing the FBI and the art community together . My mantra is “ Education is the new and lasting diplomacy .”
It is , indeed , no secret that I ’ ve been committed to the chambers and consulates during my time back in my hometown of Houston — usually appointed Director of Strategic Partnerships during projects . My most passionate work has been with the international community whether speaking of it on stage , on radio , or television during campaigns or educational initiatives . I decided to have a platform for each community I support would be best in this diverse and growing world stage where we are constantly being tested to take care of each other in some capacity . Promoting respect for individual as well as group differences while uniting faiths in dialogue or action advances respect to secure justice and ultimately fair treatment for all . Local , national , and global attitudes make all of the empowerment to enhance our strength , beauty , and collective wisdom . Become a part of the solution with me today . Perhaps a simple smile toward another culture will create the language needed to nurture your future world partner .
Resource note : Did you know our city coordinates partnerships and bilateral agreements for companies if you wish to do so ? The COH Bilateral Agreements division helps coordinate special relationships with international cities in a single designated field of exchange ( such as medical , trade , education , or culture ) over a two- year period . Each agreement is sponsored by the Mayor or a City Council Member and coordinated by citizen volunteers . The division focuses on originating and maintaining bilateral agreements and global partnerships in an effort to secure beneficial relationships between Houston and international parties . On behalf of the Mayor , this division is in charge of Houston ’ s role in the Sisters City program , which actively reaches out to cities that share political , business and cultural interests with Houston .
Please Contact The Partners and Agreements Office if : You need information regarding Houston ’ s role as a Sister City
