Encounter with
a Swallowtail

Oh how applauded your black wings
of artful spots, strokes of yellow and fancy flight expected of you
to sip nectar
all day while the breeze chases your tail
Oh how begged your landing
no matter your heritage
melange
orange and blue
Butterfly born to decor
Oh - - how I envy thee
{ the beautiful swallowtail is fluttering, hovering,
communicating o’er me }
“Admiration accepted
though ought
to inform the truth
it’s not the fashionable life
sought
Born to be
fond of from afar
then come those
equipped with a jar”
Well - it seems we’re somewhat the same
Oh now how do we
envy the sea
