• Handball is an Olympic discipline that debuted in 1936, and was later
permanently attached in 1972.
• In ancient Greece and ancient Rome there were sports reminiscent of
today's handball.
• The first rules of modern handball were written by Dane Holger Nielsen
in 1898.
• The first international match was played on September 13, 1925.
Germany beat Austria 6: 3.
• 6. Handball is the second fastest team game in the world (behind
hockey).
• Players can hold the ball for a maximum of three seconds without
rebound and make no more than 3 steps with it.
• Germany is the cradle of handball.
• Striking a goalkeeper with a ball in the face is a foul.
• Albania 1 - 81 Faroe Islands, this is the highest score in the history of
handball set up by handball players. Interestingly, the Albanians found
themselves on the pitch by accident. Balkan activists mistook the
basketball players with handballs and they sent to the Faroe Islands not
this team what they need.
• According to the original German rules, the team consisted of 11 players
on the pitch.
