VI.2 Table Tennis – rules (Haizea Delgado Palencia, Eduard Miedes, Katherine Zambrano, Lucía Dionisio – Spain) The basic rules for playing table tennis are:  The first player to take out is decided randomly. Each player or pair will draw twice, then the serve to the opposing player or pair.  When played individually, white lines on the table mean nothing, but in pairs games each draws diagonally from right to left.  The player or pair that starts on one side in a game must change sides in the next game of the match.  A service is performed by placing the ball in the palm of the hand. It is thrown and hit so that it gives the first boat in the side of the net of the player that serves.  Once the ball is in play, each player checks the ball to pass it to the opponent's side.  A player or pair will win a game when he reaches 11 points with a difference of 2 goals over the opponent.  The game will consist of an odd number of games of 3, 5 or 7 and the winner will be who previously surpasses half of games won. The racquet and the ball The racquet can be size, shape or weight, although its blade must be flad and rigid. The side of the blade, used to hit the ball will be covered, either with normal spike rubber or with rubber sandwich. The surface of the coating on the sides of the sheet will be matte. 115
