Red Hat appoints Adrian Pickering as regional head for MENA

Red Hat has appointed Adrian Pickering as Regional Head for Middle East and North Africa . Pickering brings to Red Hat over 30 years of high-level technology leadership experience having worked in a variety of sales and management roles .
He was previously Vice President , Middle East and Africa at Juniper Networks for over five years . At Juniper Networks , Pickering grew the business by double digits across his full term , and made improvements in sales productivity , margins , go to market , best practices , strategic accounts , strategic relationships , operating expenses , employee attrition , customer endorsements .
Prior to Juniper Networks , Pickering worked for an extended duration of time , from 1998 to 2011 at Cisco Systems in a variety of roles . These included Senior Director Strategic Projects , Cisco Emerging Markets East ; Director , Emerging Markets Service Provider Video and Triple Play Solutions ; Director , Service Provider Strategic Accounts ; Regional Sales Manager , UK Service Providers ; Regional Sales Manager , BT Account . Before joining Cisco , Pickering was at Nortel Networks .
Pickering moved to UAE in 2004 and over the last ten years has worked across emerging economies including Middle East , Africa , Russia , Eastern Europe and Latin America .

F5 Networks appoints Taj El Khayat as regional director

F5 Networks has appointed Taj El Khayat as its new Director for Gulf , Levant and North Africa region . Reporting directly to Diego Arrabal , Vice President Middle East and Africa , F5 Networks , El Khayat will lead a team comprising of salespeople , channel staff , and system engineers focused on consolidating the vendors position as the region ’ s application delivery company . In particular , there will be a strong emphasis on security and multi-cloud projects . El Khayat brings with him over 17-years ’ industry experience , having played a major role in driving profit and market-share for a range of top IT players .
He joins F5 Networks from Riverbed , where he was the Regional Vice President for Middle East , Turkey and Africa , helping the company establish their leadership in the region as a leading application performance platform technology providers , while driving consistent growth and increasing market footprint .
Prior to this , El Khayat held several senior positions at vendors like Juniper Networks , and Microsoft . He has had notable success in building strategies to enter new markets , assembling high-performance teams , as well as spearheading customer surround and satisfaction initiatives . He also has an extensive track-record in creating channel programmes and initiatives catering to partners across the Middle East , Turkey and Africa region .

Mario Veljovic has joined VAD Technologies as General Manager . He brings with him 20 years of senior management experience in both traditional and value added distribution . His work objectives include helping organisations realise their digital transformation objectives , building a sustainable business that is committed to the success of its vendors and resellers , introducing new valueadded services that meet market requirements .
Prior to his recent movement , Veljovic was Vice President Solutions for Middle East and Africa at Global Solutions Network from 2014 . Prior to Global Solutions Network , Veljovic had a long stint at Aptec Ingram Micro from 2003 to 2014 .
At Aptec Ingram Micro he held various positions and roles including Operations and Services Director , General Manager , Operations and Commercial Manager , Manager Sales and Marketing , and Regional Business Unit Manager . He moved to Aptec Ingram Micro from Actebis International Distribution in 2003 .

Infoblox elevates Cherif Sleiman to Vice President EMEA operations

Infoblox , the network control company that provides actionable network intelligence , announced that Cherif Sleiman has been elevated to the post of Vice President of Europe , Middle East and Africa operations . Sleiman previously oversaw Infoblox ’ s Middle East and Africa business and under his leadership the region grew rapidly , specifically in the areas of DNS security and network control for hybrid clouds . Sleiman will be reporting to Bill McCarthy , Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations .
Sleiman has more than 22 years of sales , technical and business experience with some of the world ’ s leading networking and telecommunications technology companies including Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks . He is a subject matter expert and well versed in the areas of security , compliance , cloud , and technology trends .
