INDUSTRY APPOINTMENTS Sanjay Ahuja takes over as CEO of FVC Olaf Duennweller moves from Veritas to join Commvault FVC, one of the region’s value-added distributors, has appointed Sanjay Ahuja as its new CEO. Ahuja will focus on delivering leadership, growth and development of the company’s expansive regional operations, which counts more than 350 major enterprise customers in 50-plus Middle East and African markets. Based in Dubai, Ahuja will play a pivotal role in driving FVC’s growth via increased partner engagement and providing market- leading end-to-end solutions that deliver optimum, cost-efficient performance for FVC clients. Ahuja will oversee FVC’s strategic in-country hubs in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya and Nigeria amongst others. Ahuja will be focused primarily on strengthening and expanding FVC’s channel breadth and depth with its respective OEMs and streamlining overall operations across business units including sales, services, finance, human resources, administration, marketing, supply chain management and other support functions. Commvault, a global vendor in enterprise backup, recovery, archive and cloud, announced appointment of Olaf Duennweller as Area-Vice President - EMEA Central. Duennweller comes to Commvault after nearly 17 years at Veritas, growing through the ranks from Pre-Sales Manager to Country Manager for the entire business in Germany. In this new position Duennweller takes leadership of Commvault’s business across the Germany, Austria, Switzerland markets, with responsibility to strengthen regional alliance and partner networks, and increase Fahmi Jabri to lead Honeywell’s META Commercial Security Honeywell, the global software-industrial company, has appointed Fahmi Jabri as its Business Leader for Commercial Security in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. Jabri’s new role will see him grow Commvault revenue and market share through new pan- regional customer implementations and partnerships. With a focus on delivering simplified, market-leading backup and recovery data protection solutions, specifically supporting pressing GDPR, ransomware, hybrid cloud and scale-out customer requirements, Duenweller plans to increase penetration across public sector, enterprise and mid- market sectors. He will also advance the organisation’s portfolio of commercial security hardware and software solutions for connected buildings in the region, leveraging advances in analytics, big data, cloud and Internet of Things IoT technology. Jabri is tasked with reinforcing Honeywell’s position as a key player in the small and medium business SMB segment, the high-end CCTV market, and the access control and commercial intrusion business for Honeywell. Prior to this role, Jabri was Strategy and Marketing Director of Security and Fire, for the Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Africa. He has been in the building technologies’ industry for more than 17 years, and joined Honeywell in April 2015. Rabih Itani elevated to drive Aruba regional security Oren Yehudai joins Equinix as channel head Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, has appointed Rabih Itani to lead its security business development across the region. Rabih Itani is a network and security industry veteran who is tasked with helping organisations reduce risk in today’s changing threat landscape and address new and unknown threats. He joined Aruba in early 2012 as a system engineering manager for the telco sector across Middle East and Turkey and rose to manage the business in 2015. Equinix announced it has appointed Oren Yehudai to lead its EMEA Channel Partner Programme. Yehudai joins from Palo Alto Networks where he led EMEA inside channel sales and was credited with driving significant growth for the cybersecurity firm through channel sales and partnerships. Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Yehudai held senior channel roles for several high-growth tech companies including NetApp and ClickSoftware.
