Selecting right technology
critical for government
A
UAE-based government agency
was faced with perhaps the
most fundamental objectives of
governments, citizen safety and security.
To accomplish this, it would take the lead
in deploying CCTV cameras across its
buildings, ensuring that the government
would be well-positioned to secure critical
national infrastructure, which would be
essential in the build-up to smart city plans
and mega-events.
Deploying CCTV on its own is not
enough. The agency needed to train its
employees in using software to analyse the
footage, and just as importantly, ensure
the high-resolution videos were stored and
archived for a significant length of time.
As a result, the agency deployed over 5
Petabytes or more than 7,000 times the
memory of a smartphone, of storage.
Having the right kind of storage not
only helps the government agency to
meet strict government regulations, but
to meet budgets. These kinds of storage
solutions will be essential to enhance digital
transformation in line with Dubai Plan
2021, UAE Vision 2021, and Abu Dhabi
Vision 2030.
