The announcement was made by Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham as part of a detailed update on her office’s investigation into the use of data analytics in political campaigns. The ICO intends to fine Facebook a maximum £500,000 for two breaches of the Data Protection Act 1998. Facebook has a chance to respond to the Commissioner’s Notice of Intent, after which a final decision will be made. GLOBAL Timehop Timehop, a social app which shows users memories from their social media pages, confirmed it suffered a data breach affecting millions of users.
