ITA collaborates with Microsoft for
government e-transformation
More than 100 professionals
attended a conference in Muscat
focussing on increasing Government
efficiency with technology. Microsoft Gulf Public Sector SMSP,
delivered keynote speeches, followed by
presentations on digital transformation
success stories from the government.
Attendees heard how connected cloud
services can enhance the way the
Government operates at a workshop
hosted by the Information Technology
Authority (ITA) in collaboration with
Microsoft Oman. “The Sultanate of Oman has been on a
journey towards digital transformation
for over a decade now by implementing
e.oman Strategy which ITA is
responsible for implementing in
cooperation with the government
and private sectors, spurred by the
realisation that technology can have
a profound effect on all aspects of the
society,” said Dr. Al-Bulushi.
A ‘Empowering Digital Government’
session at the Hormuz Grand Hotel
showcased Microsoft’s products which
can be used to transform the public
sector and sectors of Government.

Spotlight on future of secure technologies and IoT
The Security and Communications
Systems Business Unit (SECOM) of
Mustafa Sultan Enterprises (MSE), a
leading solutions provider in Oman, and
its principal company Bosch Germany,
have put the future of technology under
the spotlight.
The Futuristic Technology Seminar on
Hack-Proof Security and the Internet
of Things (IoT) showcased their
solutions and products for the benefit
of decision makers from the ministries,
leading consultants, contractors and
corporate houses.
Several integrated applications,
that included Bosch and third party
devices, were presented through
live demonstrations and role plays,
showcasing secure technologies and IoT
to impress the delegates from various
regions of the Sultanate of Oman.

The joint team of Bosch and Mustafa
Sultan SECOM provided detailed
insights into the technologies and
applications ranging from standard
computing to IoT. The highlight of the
show was the ‘Building Integration
System’ (BIS) which seamlessly
integrates various Bosch and third party
sensors to deliver the safest and best
managed application.
