INDUSTRY WATCH
The novelty of cloud computing
infrastructure comes with the “sharing
aspect” of data centre(s). Multiple
users are now using data centres
with pervasive access to the Intranet.
By pooling resources ADMA-OPCO
Information Technology Division (ITD)
can offer dynamic services tailored to
users’ requirements.
What would you say are
the specific business results
generated by the project?
For ADMA-OPCO users, cloud computing
infrastructure is primarily a new
business paradigm, as opposed to a
new technical paradigm. ITD provides
hardware, a software infrastructure
(platform), or an application as a
service to ADMA-OPCO users. ITD allows
ADMA-OPCO users to gain capabilities
of a simple virtual server, in which
the processing, network, and storage
resources are controlled dynamically.
More sophisticated clouds also provide
useful datasets (Maximo, Oracle
Financial, HR Web servers), or access
to particular applications (e.g. share
points). The implementation of cloud
computing in ADMA-OPCO is changing
the thought culture about IT views, its
resources and strategy, in a smoother
and an easy manner.
How have recent projects
helped ADMA-OPCO
distinguish itself from regional
competitors?
ADMA-OPCO has introduced, “Unified
Communication” through “Skype for
Business” from Microsoft to implement
this new and smart collaboration tool to
standardize on this powerful platform
for an effective and efficient technology
by integrating the communication in
one collaborative environment.
The latest state-of-art green
technology, a pre-manufactured
scalable Modular Data Centre (MDC)
has been introduced at one of the
company’s location to achieve
infrastructure convergence. It has been
designed for rapid deployment, energy
efficiency and high-density computing
to deliver data centre capacity at a
