EGYPT
A factory will be built to assemble mobile phones in Borg
Al Arab, in the Alexandria Governorate. IKU Mobile Phones
Factory will be the second mobile assembly and manufacturing
plant in the Egyptian market. The percentage of local
components in the phones made by IKU will be around 40%.
The factory is expected to be built with an initial production
capacity of 1.8 million mobile phones annually with sales
volume estimated at US$36 million in its first year.
KUWAIT
A hotel is to be built in Kuwait City that includes an intelligent
car park. The Novotel Sharq Hotel will include an Intelligent
Mechanical System, where cars are transported to and from
parking spaces rather than being driven. The state-of-the-art
system will provide parking on multiple levels, stacked vertically
to maximise the number of parking spaces while minimising
land use.
