paid back in the form of constant growth
and our current expansion plans,” explained
Dr Suheel Ahmed, CEO of Arabian Farms.
“The farming industry is not considered
tech-savvy. However, with the rapid growth
and expansion of our business, and
advancement in technology, we needed to
integrate our operations and systems to get
information fast enough in order to make
quick decisions.
“Over the years, we have used different
versions of Focus Softnet’s solutions and
eventually upgraded to their intelligent ERP
solution – Focus i.”
Arabian Farms conducts a majority (80%) of
its business with leading supermarkets and
premium customers. Their farms produce
more than 400,000 eggs.
WE NEEDED TO INTEGRATE OUR
OPERATIONS AND SYSTEMS TO GET
INFORMATION FAST ENOUGH IN ORDER
TO MAKE QUICK DECISIONS.
“The main challenge we faced was
integrating information from various
departments and analysing it to make sense
for prompt decision making. With Focus’
solutions, we were able to address that and
are currently working towards increasing the
efficiency levels.”
Being perishable, with limited shelf life and
high-volume goods, eggs cannot be stored
in-house for more than two or three days. By nature the livestock business requires
decisions to be made within the shortest
possible time not only to increase
productivity but also sometimes to save the
flocks from diseases. Sales and distribution
of low shelf life products also requires
dynamic information flow so as to make
quick decisions.
“The shelf life for eggs is 90 days while
for fresh chicken it is three days. Hence it
is extremely important for us to get real
time information on our production and
inventory,” added Ahmed. Timely knowledge of product movement,
shelf presence in various outlets, fulfillment
of orders etc are some of the examples,
which can make a difference between
opportunity utilisations.

Arabian Farms’ rapidly expanding business
thus called for systematic integration of
all operations and processes that could in
turn result in quick decisions. However, just
implementing any advanced software was
not necessarily the ideal solution.
Arabian Farms has been working with
Focus Softnet since 1999 and over the
years, different versions of Focus Softnet’s
solutions have been used. The company has
evolved from using just the finance module
to using almost all the other modules as
well such as capturing production, inventory,
logistics, sales and customers data.
“Our relationship with Focus Softnet began
with Focus 5, which was then upgraded to
Focus 6, Focus RT and has now transitioned
to their intelligent ERP solution – Focus
i. Using this solution, we have been
able to easily analyse data from various
