This month we bring you the exciting news that Lynchpin Media, the company behind this publication, is launching a brand-new magazine: Intelligent CISO. As we all know, the cybersecurity industry is more important than ever with the sophistication of cybercriminals ever expanding and the number of breaches consistently increasing. That’s why we have decided to launch our own specialist cybersecurity magazine, dedicated to the Chief Information Security Officer. The magazine will take an in-depth look into the latest developments in cybersecurity trends across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North America. We will endeavour to guide CISOs through the cybersecurity maze, offering thought leadership articles, industry expertise, knowledge sharing and practical advice so readers can better understand the industry latest. You can find out more about what’s in store by turning to page 57. Our cover story this month looks at how Ramco Systems is providing national software support to the Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company (SRSC). The company has deployed Ramco’s Aviation Suite V5.8, which is already trusted by 21,000 users globally and accessible on www.intelligentcio.com cloud and mobile, to digitise and streamline its aircraft management processes across Saudi Arabia. Ramco’s integrated ERP system’s intuitive features enable SRSC to efficiently manage all maintenance, repair and overhaul operations for one of the largest combined helicopter fleets in the Middle East. In addition to aviation maintenance, SRSC will also be implementing Ramco’s complete finance, HR and payroll offering to get an integrated view of business operations. In Trending, we look at how Saudi Arabia has become the place in the Middle East to invest with the country starting out on the path to transformation. The pace and scale of change inside Saudi Arabia has seen security vendor Trend Micro announce it as the new centre of MENA operations. This month’s Talking Business sees us take an in-depth look at Red Hat’s 25th anniversary. With a business model radically different to your typical software vendor, we spoke to Adrian Pickering, Regional General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa for Red Hat, to discuss how the company has operated successfully in such a competitive market for so long. We discover how Red Hat has built up its stellar reputation utilising a community- powered approach to provide reliable and high-performing cloud, Linux, middleware, storage and virtualisation technologies. We also have all the usual features and news from around the region. As usual enjoy the read and contact me at [email protected] if you wish to contribute. Dr Moataz Bin Ali, Vice President and Managing Director of Trend Micro, Middle East and Africa, tells us how investment in the country requires a commitment to its growth while also offering great rewards. He tells us how economies of scale available in Saudi are vastly superior to the rest of the Middle East region with the exception of Egypt. “If you are not investing heavily in Saudi, if you are not growing Saudi talent, if you are not supporting Saudi individuals, and if you are not knowledge sharing with the Saudi economy, then the government has no use for you as a company,” he says.
