The UAE government has given the go-ahead for developmental projects worth
nearly Dh200 million ($54.4 million) in the Northern Emirates. This comes in
line with the government’s efforts to develop the country›s infrastructure. One
of the projects involves a Dh180-million scheme linking Sheikh Khalifa Specialty
Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah with the federal road network to streamline access to
the hospital’s services.

OMAN
The opening of the Musandam Independent Power Project (IPP) power
plant in northern Oman, built by the technology group Wärtsilä, has taken
place. A ceremony was attended by executives from the plant owners,
Musandam Power Company (MPC), and Wärtsilä. The 120 MW generating
facility will contribute to the overall economic development of the
Musandam Governorate.
