Ruh continues.
The drivers of Industrial Internet

globally are the same. The key driver
for both is the remarkable growth
in Internet penetration and the
disruptive innovation in efficiencies and
productivity made possible through the
newest advances in digital technology.

The challenge for GE is that no
other company has tried this kind of
strategy. GE is really writing its own
playbook. What took SalesForce 10

is going to achieve it in three years.

requires internal
transformation.
It is never easy to
change an existing
business model when
something has been
working, but it is
critical to bring the
entire GE company
on this journey.

The modernisation of industry is the
biggest opportunity that exists today,
and that is what GE is delivering
through its Industrial Internet of Things
solutions. Just 1% efficiency gains could
equate to more than $150 billion dollars
saved annually for industries like energy,
transportation, and healthcare.

GE partners span the breadth of
industry, from energy to oil and
gas, healthcare, aviation and
transportation, as well as systems
integrators, telecommunications firms
and technology companies. GE has
partnered with Dr Sulaiman Al Habib
Medical Group to open the region’s

GE is also working to co-create
innovative digital solutions. GE Additive
has joined hands with Mubadala
and the Dubai Future Foundation to
establish the first Microfactory in the
region in the UAE, seeking to accelerate
revolutionary additive design, customer
innovation, digital manufacturing
technologies and access to global
problem solving within the UAE.
Recently, GE signed a strategic
partnership agreement with Hewlett
Packard Enterprise to bring GE Digital’s
breakthrough digital industrial solutions
at scale to the Middle East, Africa and
Turkey. The three-year agreement
with HPE, is the first collaboration of
this scale and scope in the region, and
will focus primarily on cyber security
solutions in operational Technology,
with the potential to move into other
digital solutions in the future. n
